Once upon a time, I was a custom newborn photographer. I stopped taking on new clients shortly after my newest little guy came home from China, but I worked professionally from 2009 to 2015, and I absolutely loved it. I’ll still occasionally come out of “retirement” to celebrate new little ones with my camera, but mostly I focus on homeschooling my loves and hobby farm living. I still have a love and passion for natural light photography though, and hopefully that comes through on my blog. I will always love capturing the artistic view of any situation, so I focus now on documenting the simple beauty of our everyday life. I work mostly with my Canon 5D Mark III and a 24-70L f/2.8 lens, though I also love my 50mm f/1.4 and 100mm f/2.8 macro. I’ve also embraced the iPhone camera for Instagram purposes! I edited with Photoshop CS4 until recently, when I updated my Macbook Pro and couldn’t get my old CD-version to work anymore. I’ve transitioned over to Affinity Photo, and for $50, it’s a solid alternative to Photoshop for those who don’t want to pay monthly fees.
